Non-refundable grants also for commercial activities in historic centers. Ready a new vademecum of the Revenue Agency that explains how to get it

Roma

The “August” decree, has set aside € 500 million to provide non-repayable grants to those working in the tourism industry in Italy's historic centers that have recorded a significant drop in foreign tourists and that, in June 2020, registered a turnover of less than two-thirds compared to the same month in 2019. Therefore, the sum obtained may vary depending on the documented accounting conditions, yet a minimum of € 1.000 will go to individual workers and € 2.000 to other entities meeting these requirements.

How it works – The new guide on "The non-repayable grant for activities in historic centers" is a useful tool dedicated to operators who carry out commercial activities in the historic centers of the provincial capitals or metropolitan cities with a great foreign tourist vocation, and which have suffered a sharp decline in their revenues caused by travelers and visitors forced to reduce holidays, visits and touristic expenses due to the emergency from Covid-19. Indeed, the vademecum illustrates in detail the information necessary so that economic operators and their tax intermediaries can assess whether they meet the necessary requirements, calculate the contribution due, fill in the application completely, double-check it carefully in all its elements and send it in the right time and manner. Particularly, the application is scheduled to be submitted starting from November 18th until January 14th 2021.

Who is entitled to the outright benefit - With respect to the potential beneficiaries, the guide clarifies the requirements that need to be verified: possession of an active VAT number prior to 1 July 2020; carrying out commercial activities in the historic centers of the 29 provincial capitals or metropolitan cities of which the list is provided, and the effective decrease in turnover and fees of at least one third between June 2019 and June 2020 or, alternatively, the start of activities from 1 July 2019. All those who meet these conditions can apply for the non-refundable grant.

How to request access to the “Bonus” - Other than helping to measure the exact amount of the contribution due, the guide explains, step-by-step, how to send the application, offering a preview of the web procedure - the only one through which to send the application - which will be available online within the "Invoices and payments" section on the site of the Agency starting from Wednesday 18th November. Mainly, once the application has been submitted, taxpayers will receive two receipts: the one for taking charge and the subsequent one for acceptance, which certifies the execution of the payment directly on the applicant's bank account. In addition, in case the operator makes an error, he will be explained how it is possible to remedy it with a replacement request or with a waiver.
